Jay Gonzalez Campaign for Governor
“AIM High”
In 2018, Jay Gonzalez ran against incumbent Charlie Baker on an ambitious platform that challenged the status quo with emphasis on improving public transit and expanding access to affordable healthcare and childcare. Media Harmonics produced a series of videos for the campaign.
This 2018 Kickoff video celebrated one year since the launch of the Jay Gonzalez Campaign and raised awareness of Jay’s ambitious platform to a wider audience. Shot at the campaign headquarters in Somerville, MA, the production team transformed the space into a colorful testament to Jay’s grassroots campaign.

This piece was produced for the Massachusetts Democratic Convention to set the stage for Jay Gonzalez's address to Democratic delegates and party members. It featured his daughter Gabby who joked about her father’s height, contrasting Jay’s scrappy demeanor and advocacy for marginalized communities with Charlie Baker’s tall stature and ties to corporate interests. After playing at the convention, the video helped Gonzalez to win 70% of the votes, easily securing him the endorsement of the party and eventually the nomination for Democratic candidate for Governor.

Heading into the general election after a busy summer of following Jay Gonzalez at various events along the campaign trail, Media Harmonics produced this video to help articulate Jay’s vision of positive government and the ways in which it can serve everyday Americans. Strategically, the video presents a softer side of Jay, a break from the more oppositional tone he took in critiques of incumbent Charlie Baker. The video was widely disseminated on digital channels and helped to reinforce Jay’s positioning as an approachable politician who would champion working Americans by giving them a greater voice in state government.
